Stop fiscal waste prior to adding addition tax burdens on marylanders who happen to drive for work and or pleasure. Open your books and let the voter decide on cut-backs prior to taxing us again.
If other Governors can figure out how not to raise taxes during a veritable depression, why can't or won't you? You should probably audit everything before you even think about tax increases. There plenty of waste and misappropriation going on, get a clue!
Stop throwing Marylanders under the bus! Try a different strategy, one proven to work: DECREASE taxes, DECREASE government spending, and WATCH our economy TAKE OFF!
Enough talk of more taxes, make your Doomsday cuts, you dont scare me with that BS. I am tired of scraping by to pay my taxes. Do us a favor, live within your budget just like all of your supposed constituants must do. If we overspend or run short of money can we tax you so we can get more to spend, If you and Miller placed a %50 tax on everything, you would still spend it all because its there, I am right, thats a fact!!!!!. I make $2100 dollars a month, of that I have to place $400.00 aside each month just to pay my Real Estate taxes, not to mention your other numerous taxes. I CANNOT pay any more. Stop your spending Please!
As a retail store owner that is sometimes considered "far out" according to my customers, what do you think higher fuel and a higher sales tax will do to business and the employees I keep? It will be a disaster. My customers will probably increase their internet sales and I'll get a weaker business, you'll be responsible for getting less sales taxes and who knows....maybe your unemployment rolls will go up as I might not need as many employees. Please don't do what others have failed trying. Just spend less. Just spend less.
Dear Governor O'Malley: It is a travesty that you think you must raise our taxes. I understand your problem because we are going to lose Federal subsidies. I get that. But my goodness, when, when have tried to cut back expenses? Just take 5% out of every line item for this year and next year, and you will win the support of many Marylanders who have done the same thing and more. Most people can easily live on 5% less. Take 5% this year, and 5% next year, and we are done. Go take a vacation and bask in the adoration of your loyal subjects.
Sincerely,
The hike in taxes didn't work the first time O'Malley attempted to fix the debt problem he created after a short period of surplus. Marylanders are begging you to spend much less and end the vindictive nature in which O'Malleys administration does business!!! I see an uprooting of my family to VA or WV if things don't begin to change.
The people elect people to be good stewards of our resources and culture; to protect our way of life; to allow folks to succeed through their own god given talents and drive, not by forced servitude or devisive tactics. Your increased spending satisfies none of the above requirements and increasing revenues through taxes only exacerbates the economic and moral decline of and in maryland. Good job? Think not!
You may have won the last election b/c the tactics of giving to some to keep votes has worked in Md. for obvious reasons. However, the majority of US citizens are FED UP with politicians like you and our voices will be heard in the next presidential election; we are "on to" you. ENOUGH!! FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY IS NOT JUST A CAMPAIGN SLOGAN. I actually quit my job to keep from paying MD and the US govt any more money. You are all living in la la land.
Why can't O'Malley, Miller, Busch and the rest in Annapolis understand how bad these taxes as others has hurt the Maryland People and the Business Population in the State. Va. and Pa. love us. !!
If my taxes go up any more then I am simply going to have to move out of state. Having nice landscaped roadsides is nice but not worth it when my paycheck gets essentially stolen from me every two weeks! This SUCKS!
Martin, do not raise the sales tax or gasoline tax. There is a reason that people are fleeing MD. We want to live in liberty, not your tyranny. I will travel the few extra miles to support PA instead of you.
It's time to start taxing the rich and big corporations....quit with those tax breaks or allow those on the other end of the tax scale to have those benefits. In one respect, a flat tax sounds better and better all the time.
This over taxing has to stop! Maryland and the U.S. government alike need to curb the spending, get rid of unnecessary and unaffordable programs, and live within their means like the rest of us. They cannot and should not continue to take more and more from the taxpayers to support big government agendas, wasteful spending programs, and government hand-outs to indigent people. We are taxed enough, and it's time for states and the Feds to learn to live within a budget. The cost of living is too high already for citizens. Another tax increase is unconscionable!

Why not have a look at the Gov. wasting the taxes they already have stolen from us.
Luckily I live close enough to VA that I can shop and buy my gas there. I still vote in MD, but not for you again.
