Say No To Higher Taxes In Maryland

Tell Gov. O’Malley that Maryland cannot afford any more taxes!  It is time Gov. O’Malley put aside his big government agenda and stop proposing new taxes that will hurt Marylanders.

Gov. O’Malley is proposing raising the Maryland Sales tax from its current rate of 6% to 7%.  If the Governor gets his way Maryland families who are already suffering during these rough economic times will be further hurt.  To add to this Gov. O’Malley is also proposing a massive increase to the Gasoline tax which would also do great harm to Maryland’s economy as higher prices at the pump mean higher prices for all goods and services.

Stand with free market principles and tell Governor O’Malley Maryland cannot afford his big government agenda!

Tell the governor, No to raising our taxes!

As a retail store owner that is sometimes considered "far out" according to my customers, what do you think higher fuel and a higher sales tax will do to business and the employees I keep? It will be a disaster. My customers will probably increase their internet sales and I'll get a weaker business, you'll be responsible for getting less sales taxes and who knows....maybe your unemployment rolls will go up as I might not need as many employees. Please don't do what others have failed trying. Just spend less. Just spend less.
Dear Governor O'Malley: It is a travesty that you think you must raise our taxes. I understand your problem because we are going to lose Federal subsidies. I get that. But my goodness, when, when have tried to cut back expenses? Just take 5% out of every line item for this year and next year, and you will win the support of many Marylanders who have done the same thing and more. Most people can easily live on 5% less. Take 5% this year, and 5% next year, and we are done. Go take a vacation and bask in the adoration of your loyal subjects.
Sincerely,

David M. Zwald
The hike in taxes didn't work the first time O'Malley attempted to fix the debt problem he created after a short period of surplus. Marylanders are begging you to spend much less and end the vindictive nature in which O'Malleys administration does business!!! I see an uprooting of my family to VA or WV if things don't begin to change.
I'm ashamed to say I live in Maryland. The tax 'em to death capital of the nation. We folks in Western Maryland want to secede and form our own state.
It is past time to stop burdening us with your out of control taxing and spending. I wish I could move out of the state of Maryland.
You are the textbook definition of a tax and spend liberal! Stop increasing my taxes!
