Ask your Representatives to Cosponsor the Reducing the Size of the Federal Government through Attrition Act of 2011

--I urge you to contact your representatives and ask them to cosponsor H.R.3029, the Reducing the Size of the Federal Government through Attrition Act of 2011. Introduced by Rep. Mulvaney (R-SC), the bill would reduce the total number of federal employees by 10 percent over a five year period.

--It would specifically allow only one federal employee to be hired to replace every three that retire or leave their job. This bill would help to reduce the bloated federal bureaucracy, save taxpayers money and increase competition by ending wasteful service contracts.

--The total number of federal employees has skyrocketed to a total of more than 2 million workers. Since the beginning of the economic downturn in December of 2007, the federal government has added 230,000 new federal employees. President Obama’s 2012 budget proposes an increase of 15,000 federal workers. It is time to reverse the unsustainable growth of federal employees.

--Reducing the Size of the Federal Government through Attrition Act of 2011 would save taxpayers approximately $139 billion. Cutting the federal workforce is a popular bipartisan effort. This plan has been championed by President Obama’s Fiscal Commission as well as thousands of Americans through the Majority Leader’s YouCut program.

--With our national debt now $14.7 trillion, we must dramatically cut government spending. A step in the right direction would be to reduce the number of needless federal bureaucrats.

Federal employees cannot lose their jobs if they survive the 1st year of employment and the AFGE are just one of the unions responisble for this action. No matter how incompetent an idividual is they cannot be fired. Mainly because the government agency is too afraid of the unions. The csars of Obama and previous presidents must be completely eliminated. Why haven't you and others demand what these non-certified people of Obama are being paid? Where does the money come from? Why does the First Lady have such a large staff? What are their salaries and where does that money come from? Incompetent civil servants should be allowed to be fired just as any other employee in the the Country. Just as in the military, if these people are found to be slackers or not doing their jobs then the firings should not come with any fringe benefits. No one else can expect to receive anything from their employer if they are deemed unfit or unqualified to perform their jobs, so why are civil servants allow to break the laws and get away with it and when they are actually terminated then like the military they should not expect to receive any benefits for their incompetence.
