Stop the EPA! Tell your Senator to Support The TRAIN ACT

The TRAIN ACT, H.R. 2401, has passed the House and now needs to be brought to the Senate floor. This bill would push back against the EPA's unconstitutional, outrageous rules and regulations that raise energy prices for consumers, destroy jobs and increase our dependence on foreign sources of energy. Please take a minute to talk with your senator about why he or she should support the TRAIN ACT when it comes up for a vote in the U.S. Senate.

The TRAIN ACT would:

- Fight back against EPA regulations that will raise energy prices for consumers and destroy jobs

- Reject the EPA's attempt to eliminate coal as one key source of our energy needs

- Ensure that America continues to develop its own natural resources for energy, as opposed to relying more on foreign sources of energy

Dear Sir, in reference to H.R.2401, also known as the TRAIN ACT. Latest Title: Transparency in Regulatory Analysis of Impacts on the Nation Act of 2011. Cosponsored by Rep Turner, Michael R.

Without this legistation "FreedomWorks" informs me I will have significantly higher energy costs. Is this true?

The long cold winter last year set record high energy cost for me.

Reply from Sen Portman...

Dear ---,

Thank you for contacting me to express your concern about Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) current regulatory approach. It is good to hear from you.

I share your concern that the federal government, including the EPA, has been headed in the wrong direction with its regulatory policy. Regulatory overreach has characterized the current EPA and is part of what prompted me to introduce the Jobs Creation Act of 2011(S. 12) which would, among other things, institute a one-year regulatory freeze for the EPA, with an exception for cases impacting health or safety.

With the natural resources, research and development capabilities, manufacturing infrastructure, and skilled workforce necessary to produce cleaner energy at competitive prices, Ohio is poised to play a key role in America's energy future. To do this, we need common-sense policies and regulations that capitalize on all of our state's resources and help facilitate job growth.

Thank you for taking the time to contact my office. For more information, I encourage you to visit my website at www.portman.senate.gov. Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,

Rob Portman
U.S. Senator
Called Casey's D.C. office. Spoke to "Keishel". Not very cooperative. I politely expressed my concerns on behalf of myself and many other tax-paying, voting Pennsylvania constituents that he vote in favor of H.R. 2401. I asked for her understanding of the bill and she refused any discussion. I hope she is polishing up her resume`. She'll need it next November....
God Bless America!
Left message to support. Will call his local office. Usually speak to a person there. God Bless America!
leftmessage to support TRAIN Act
Left message on voice mail.
"Will pass along my comments to Senator Portman."
When asked Brown's position on TRAIN, operator said "not authorized to speak for him". Will pass along my comments.
Accepted my call and will pass along to Sen Toomey
Both Sen. Casey's and Sen. Toomey's office answered with "voice mail." Left messages on both.
McCaskill's office said "she doesn't have an opinion, YET". I urged support of HR2410. I also called Sen. Blunt's office, got a substitute office person, and left message urging him to support the bill also. We'll see where they stand. For Missourians or the growth of the EPA....
Support the TRAIN legislation against EPA regulations & higher energy costs. And support the pipeline from Canada to TX. I really don't believe that you care about the people. You keep supporting what Obama wants.

would give him my message did not know where he stood.
I spoke with a representative from Senator Casey's office who informed me that the Senator "has not yet released his views on that subject." I asked her to encourage the Senator to vote in favor of the bill since the EPA directly effects energy prices and jobs in our state. I reached Senator Toomey's voicemail, but fully expect him to support this legislation.
