Help fight against forced annexation in North Carolina!

Monday, May 16th marked an historic occasion in North Carolina when the North Carolina House of Representatives passed a comprehensive annexation reform bill: HB845, "Annexation Reform Act of 2011".

HB845 reflects numerous improvements over current statutes.
Among those changes FreedomWorks believes are key:

* HB845 Provides property owners a true voice as to whether they wish to be annexed
* HB845 Provides a fair process for providing water and sewer
* HB845 Provides increased penalties for municipalities that do not provide required services

As we celebrate this enormously important House legislation, important work remains.

Please take action below to send a message to your elected officials, urging them to move HB845 through the state senate, and to the governor's desk.

If a area is to be annexed then it should receive the exact same services as all other parts that it is to be annexed, I know here in Ok that Okc has a lot of area but does not service all those people who live in the city limits the same. the ones farther out do not get the same services and are charged for them anyway. Also there is so much area that it does not have the funds to take of it all so it goes mostly for the city and urban areas. Police and fire are real sparse. So if you annex make sure you will get same treatment as other areas do.
