1. Tax Cuts: A number of pro-growth tax cuts are currently under consideration.  It’s important that lawmakers remain aggressive on the tax-cutting front, passing as many cuts as possible. Working to increase the size of these cuts is equally important as the savings to state businesses and taxpayers will benefit the Florida economy as a whole.   

2. Paycheck Protection:  The Florida House recently passed HB 1021, bold paycheck protection legislation that would empower union workers to choose how their dues are spent and prevent Leftist union leaders from co-opting the money for political purposes.  Unfortunately, the Senate has taken steps to water-down this bill and it’s important to urge them to go back to the original version that the House passed.

3. Tort Reform: SB 1694 would enact meaningful tort reform by cracking down on auto insurance fraud.  Questionable auto claims have long plagued Florida, making trial lawyers rich while Florida motorists pay the second highest auto insurance premiums in the nation.  SB 1694 is common-sense reform that will help stop fraud and improve the state’s auto-insurance market.

4. Insurance Reform: Bills under consideration including SB 1714 and SB 408 would take steps to eliminate fraud and seriously address the bankrupt state-run Citizens' Insurance scheme that puts all Floridians at risk of huge tax and fee increases should a major storm hit the state.  Good property insurance reforms like these will revive the state's decrypted market.

Florida Governor Rick Scott has some strong, conservative allies in the Florida House and Senate helping to advance this “freedom agenda,” but grassroots support is needed to push these important reforms over the finish line.
