Call Congress: Oppose the DISCLOSE Act

Call your Senators today and urge them to oppose the DISCLOSE Act.

Here are some suggested talking points:

1. The DISCLOSE Act is a partisan political tool that would further expand the government's reach into Americans' daily lives by restricting political giving and involvement in elections.

2. The DISCLOSE Act tramples on the Constitution and infringes upon our freedom of speech.

3. The DISCLOSE Act hits corporations and conservative groups the hardest, while traditional Democrat allies such as the unions are immune.

4. Special backdoor "carve outs" for some groups is offensive. You can't "carve out" limited allowances on free speech for some when it is a protected right extended to all.

5. The DISCLOSE Act is a desperate play by Democrats looking to limit losses in this election cycle by trampling all over Americans’ First Amendment rights.

6. We can't allow the DISCLOSE Act to penalize anyone for their political associations or discourage them from taking part in our democratic process.

Please be polite, urge a no vote, remind the office that you will be watching their votes this November, post a comment below to tell us how it went and how your legislators plan on voting, and finally - urge your family and friends to call.

Staffer said Sen Ensign had not made up his mind yet. He was waiting to hear from his constituents. I told her I was a constituent and I was urging him to vote NO on the Disclose Act. I also told her I wanted to be notified when he made up his mind. She took my snail mail address and promised I would be notified of his decision. I also informed her I was the manager of the local Tea Party in White Pine County Nevada. I think the jury is still out on Ensign....he has not responded to any of my other requests by mail for his positions, and I doubt I am going to hear back from him on this one. We shall see....
